Alan Chikin Chow (born November 15, 1996) is an actor, digital creator, producer and writer.[1][2] He is the highest-ranking YouTube shorts creator with over 40 million subscribers and the creator of the YouTube series Alan's Universe.[3][4][5][6] Alan has appeared in TV series and films that include Grey's Anatomy, Mean Girls, I Didn't Do It, and Into the Dark.

He earned his Bachelors Degree from USC studying screenwriting.[7] His career in content creation also started during his time at the USC.[7]

In addition to his acting career, Alan writes, produces, creative directs, and performs in his short- and long-form content. His YouTube channel gained popularity, which made him the most-watched YouTube Shorts creator.[3][5][6]

Alan has appeared in ABC's popular series Grey's Anatomy.[8] He also appeared on Hulu's Into the Dark, ABC's Home Economics and also in the reboot of Mean Girls.[9][10]

In June 2024, he signed with the talent agency, CAA.[11]

He works with Act to Change, a non-profit against bullying for AAPI youth. He donated to the organization during TikTok's #GivingSzn.[12][13]

According to Fortune magazine, Alan is the top YouTube Shorts creator in the United States.[14][15] He was also named the top Shorts creator by YouTube at their Newfronts Presentation in 2023.[16]

He was featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 and recognized in their annual Top Creators list in 2023.[17] He was also featured in Forbes' 2023 list as one of the top content creators.[18] His channel has charted as the most-viewed YouTube channel in the United States.[19][20]

In 2024, Alan was the Webby award honoree for the Best Creator and the Best Use of Video.[21][22] The same year, he also won the Webby Award Nomination for Arts & Entertainment (Social).[23]

He was also featured in the Gold House's 2024 A100 List, which honors the 100 Asian Pacific leaders who most impact culture and society.[24]
