Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha constituency is a Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of Maharashtra state in western India.[2]
Demographics
[edit]The North Central Lok Sabha constituency is dominated by minority voters, and is challenge for candidates, with having to get the support of both linguistic and religious minorities. The constituency has around 9 lakh North Indian people mostly from UP & Bihar, 5 lakh Muslims and about 6.5 lakh minority voters in total. There is also a significant number of Jain, Marwaris and Gujaratis, especially around Vile Parle. Bhaiya population is concentrated around Chandivali, Kurla, Kalina, Vandre East & Vandre West. Christian population are concentrated on 2 constituency Kalina & Vandre West. Further, the demography of the constituency ranges from rich(like Bollywood celebrities, Businessmen, Politicians, etc) to middle class to slums.

One MP was : Vitthal Gandhi, Congress (149,138 votes) defeated the socialist leader Ashok Mehta (139,741)
Second MP : Narayan Kajrolkar, Congress (138,137 votes) defeated Dr Ambedkar (123,576)[4][5][6]
