Gerash County (Persian: شهرستان گراش) is located in Fars province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Gerash.^[3]

History

In February 2008, Gerash District was separated from Larestan County in the establishment of Gerash County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Gerash as its capital and only city at the time.^[3]

After the 2016 National Census, the village of Arad was elevated to the status of a city.^[4]

Ethnicity

Gerash was traditionally part of the region of Irahistan. Gerash's inhabitants are Achomi people.

Population

At the time of the 2011 census, the county's population was 47,055 people in 12,839 households.^[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 53,907 in 15,155 households.^[2]
