El Reino Infantil--In English:The Child Kingdom, is an Argentine YouTube channel featuring music for children[2] owned by Leader Music.[3] It was founded by Roberto Pumar in 2011.[4][5]
As of May 11th 2024, the channel has over 64 million subscribers, being the 28th biggest YouTube channel in the world and the most subscribed Spanish-language YouTube channel after passing Badabun in August 2021. They are also the most subscribed in Argentina.[6]
Series
[edit]María Elena Walsh (2011)
[edit]María Elena Walsh was the first series created by El Reino Infantil, debuting in June 2011. The songs on this show were based in the stories and songs by the Argentine singer-songwriter, María Elena Walsh. On the show, her songs are told by a pencil and a violin.
La Granja de Zenón (2011-present)
[edit]The second series by El Reino Infantil was La Granja de Zenón (formerly Las Canciones de la Granja) ,[7] which also launched in June 2011. La Granja de Zenón is about a farmer named Zenón, the owner of a farm with talking animals who are also Zenón's friends. Some of these talking animals include, among others, El Gallo Bartolito (Bartolito the Rooster), La Vaca Lola (Lola the Cow), El Lorito Pepe (Pepe the Parrot), and El Caballo Percheron (Percherón the Horse). Zenón also has one niece and two nephews, María, Juan Antonio, and Tito, who love to come to the farm to play. Zenón and his animal friends enjoy getting into interesting adventures on the farm.
As of April 9, 2022, La Granja de Zenón had 30.4 million subscribers and over 21.6 billion video views.[8]
Of the many popular songs that originated from this show, "La Vaca Lola" and "El Pollito Pío" are the most famous.
Rondas y Clásicos Infantiles (2012-2021)
[edit]The third series, Rondas y Clásicos Infantiles, was released in April 2012. On the show, two children named Santi and Viole go on many adventures with their eccentric grandfather, Captain Pipo. Each of the main characters has the power to become anything, including sailors, farmers, witches, and others.
Canciones y Clásicos Infantiles (2012-2022)
[edit]This series, released in July 2012, features songs that did not make it into the other series.
Las Canciones del Zoo (2013-present)
[edit]The fourth series, Las Canciones del Zoo, was released in August 2013. Las Canciones del Zoo is takes place in a zoo where a man named Mario works as a vet there, he isn’t alone though as he is accompanied by his son Pedro, his niece Mía, and his nephew Teo as they like to play with all the other animals in the zoo like Chulo the Monkey, Dante the Crocodile, Lulú the Duck and many more.
Paco el Marinero (2014-present)
[edit]The fifth series, Paco el Marinero, was released in November 2014. Paco el Marinero is about a sailor named Paco and his sailor friends Luli and a pirate as they like to sing and play on their little island, they also like to adventure on their boats The original videos were 2D but in 2017 they updated to 3D
Michi-Guau (2014-2020)
[edit]The sixth series, Michi-Guau, was released in December 2014. Michi-Guau is about a town that is inhabited by anthropomorphic and civilized cats, dogs, and mice. In Michi-Guau you will see characters like the couple Ronro and Carlota Michimiau, Mr. MichiGato, Tom the cat, Bingo the dog and many others. Michi-Guau ended on December 15, 2018 with it’s final song La Tía Monica thus giving the series a total of 2 volumes
La Familia Blu (2015 - present)
[edit]The seventh series, La Familia Blu, was released in January 2015. La Familia Blu is a series about a blue haired family that consist of a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a baby, and a dog, that like to play and dance with each other.
Bichikids (2015 - present)
[edit]The eighth and last series, Bichikids, was released in December 2015. Bichikids is a series of songs made by El Reino Infantil released at the end of 2015 and as of right now it is the last original series by El Reino Infantil. Bichikids features the lives of various bug characters such as Be-Be the Bee, Ti-Ti the Butterfly, To-To the Ant etc. where they like to sing, dance and have fun.
In popular culture
[edit]On July 8, 2019, Ashton Kutcher published a video on his Instagram page of he and his wife Mila Kunis singing "La Vaca Lola"[9] (Lola the Cow), a song made famous on La Granja de Zenón.[10][11]
The singer who provided the original vocals to "La Vaca Lola" is Argentine singer-songwriter Cam Beszkin although she is not credited.
