Haley Lanier Berg (born September 23, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Dallas Trinity FC in the USL Super League.

College career

Texas Longhorns, 2017-2021

Berg was highly recruited out of high school. She was the #2 prospect out of Texas and the #11 overall midfield prospect.[1] Haley received several offers to play college soccer including offers from: Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Duke and Colorado. Berg ultimately decided on joining the Texas Longhorns. During her university years from 2017 to 2021, she made 73 appearances and scored 24 goals for the Longhorns.[2][1]

Professional career

Zaragoza CFF

In 2021, she joined Spanish side Zaragoza CFF scoring one goal in thirty matches.[3]

Houston Dash

In June 2022, she returned back to the US, joining the Houston Dash for the 2022 NWSL season.[4]

FC Nordsjælland

In August 2022, she transferred to FC Nordsjælland (formerly Farum BK Women) to play in the Danish Women's League.[5] She appeared in nine games for the Danish side.[6][7]

Valur

Berg joined league champions Valur in Reykjavík, Iceland in March 2023.[7] She played in the 2023 Besta deild kvenna, where she scored two goals in twelve matches.[5][6]

Fenerbahçe

In September 2023, she transferred to Istanbul, Turkey and joined Fenerbahçe S.K. to play in the Turkish Women's Super League.[7][8][9]

Dallas Trinity FC

Berg joined Dallas Trinity in June 2024, ahead of the inaugural USL Super League season, becoming the team's 3rd signing overall.[10]

International career

Youth teams

Berg played for the United States at several different levels in their youth squads. In 2013, she was selected to the U.S. girls' U-15 team, and took part at a training camp.[2]

As part of the U.S. women's U-18 team, she played in three matches and scored one goal at the 2016 Women's International Cup held in Northern Ireland.[2]

In early 2017, she joined a training camp of the U.S. women's U-19 team in Sunrise, Florida.[2]

Personal life

Haley Lanier Berg was born in Celina, Texas, United States on September 23, 1998.[2][11] She has three siblings.[2]

After graduating from Celina High School, she studied Applied Learning & Development: Youth & Community Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.[5][2]
