Biography
[edit]Flinn joined The Mixtures in 1967 on bass. In 1970, the band released "The Pushbike Song", which went to number one in Australia and number two in the UK.[1] The Mixtures moved to England in January 1971.[2] Flinn left the band in May 1972 and formed Springfield Revival with Donna Jones.[2] They appeared on The Morecambe & Wise Show, opened for The Osmonds, and performed at the 45th Academy Awards in 1973. The duo were also in Pussyfoot. Flinn filled in for Brian Engel of The New Seekers while he was in Los Angeles. Mick then became a permanent member, and was in the New Seekers from that point onwards, until 2010, when the New Seekers stop touring. Flinn leads "The Mick Flinn Band", who cover popular songs from the 1960s and 1970s.[3]
