Maemo Leste
Maemo Leste is a free and open-source mobile operating system[1], as a mobile Linux distribution. It's based on Devuan[2] plus Maemo components, for smartphones, tablets and electronic devices[3]. It's totally independent of Android.

History
[edit]Initiated in 2018 by Ivan Jelincic and Merlijn Wajer[4], the project aims to reuse the Maemo components, toward the most FOSS environnment[5]. It's public are the OSS communities.
Funding
[edit]MaemoLeste is partly financied by the EU funds NGI[6], and NLNet[7].
Functionning
[edit]MaemoLeste is based on Devuan, with mainline kernel ; it's used with the Hildon GUI, to bring back users the Maemo 5 "Fremantle" experience[8].
