Ethan Joseph Wheatley (born 20 January 2006) is an English footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester United. He is an England youth international.[4]
Club career
[edit]After coming through the Manchester United Academy he signed a professional contract with the club in January 2024.[5]
He made his Premier League debut on 24 April 2024 against Sheffield United in a 4–2 victory.[6] He became the 250th academy graduate to make his debut for the Manchester United senior team.[7][8]
On 22 July 2024, Manchester United posted a picture of Wheatley on their WhatsApp channel with Wheatley wearing a training kit with the number 36 on it, indirectly confirming his kit number change from 84.
International career
[edit]He has been capped at England U17 level.[9] In May 2024, he was called-up to the England national under-18 football team.[10] He made a goalscoring debut during a 4–2 win over Northern Ireland at St. George's Park.[11]

[edit]Born in Stockport, Greater Manchester, Wheatley is of Jamaican descent through his father and Irish descent through his mother.
