Wingspan is a strategy video game based on the board game Wingspan for Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, iOS, and Android. It released in 2020 to positive critical and commercial reception.
Release
[edit]An early digital version of the tabletop game released in January 2019 on the tabletop simulator Tabletopia.[1] It was subsequently released for macOS and Windows via Steam on September 17, 2020, with a port for Nintendo Switch releasing initially in Japan on December 24, 2020,[2] and globally on December 29, 2020.[3] The game was also released the following year in 2021 for Xbox One on June 18,[4] iOS and iPadOS on July 20, 2021,[5] and Android on November 9, 2021.[6]

The game received "generally favorable" reviews according to review aggregator Metacritic.[8][7] PC Gamer rated the game 9/10, praising the mechanics and illustration positively comparing with the original board game.[9] Gamezebo, however, preferred the original board game.[10] The adaptation was commercially successful, with 125,000 cumulative copies sold across Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and iOS.[11]
