The 2023 Maharashtra Premier League was the inaugural edition of the Maharashtra Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in Maharashtra, India.The league was organised by the Maharashtra Cricket Association in 2023.The tournament was played between 15 June to 29 June 2023.[1][2][3][4]
Background
[edit]Over two hundred players from different districts of Maharashtra registered themselves for player auction, including players from Pune, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur etc. International players from the state such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Kedar Jadhav, Rahul Tripathi and district cricketers will participate. The league is sanctioned by BCCI. As per Maharashtra cricket association's president Rohit Pawar the aim of MPL is to give opportunities to Maharashtra's budding cricketers.[5]
Broadcasting
[edit]This season is airing on DD Sports, although DD broadcasting only second of each game as of 20 June 2023 instead airing full game. Fancode also airing the season on its mobile app.
