Arirang TV (Arirang International Broadcasting) (Korean: 아리랑 국제방송) is an international broadcasting station operated by the Korea International Broadcasting Foundation, based in Seoul, South Korea.[1] It provides English-language information on Korean current events, culture, and history to regions around South Korea.
It began broadcasting in South Korea on February 3, 1997, and overseas broadcasting began on August 12, 1999. The name of the station comes from the traditional Korean folk song Arirang.[2]
Three channels broadcast 24 hours a day in English, and provide subtitle services in Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Vietnamese and Indonesian (multilingual subtitle service).
On May 9, 2022, Arirang International Broadcasting launched Arirang Espanol, a Spanish-language YouTube channel.
Arirang International Broadcasting currently has approximately 146.25 million viewing households in 107 countries around the world.

Channel
[edit]- Korea (domestic broadcasting): Launched on February 3, 1997. It is broadcast throughout South Korea through cable, satellite, and IPTV.
- World (foreign broadcasting): Launched on August 12, 1999. The main broadcasting language is English, and multilingual subtitle services are provided.
- UN In-house Network (overseas broadcasting): Launched on July 14, 2015. It can be viewed at the UN Headquarters in New York and broadcasts current affairs reports and liberal arts programs.

Arirang TV airs a variety of genres of programs covering the international economy, political situations, culture, and entertainment. It consists of programs suitable for viewers of various ages as well as programs for domestic and foreign opinion leaders.[4]

- Arirang NEWS: It mainly reflects Korean news in English, and the fields are diverse, including politics, world, economy, diplomacy, North Korea, lifestyle/culture, science, sports, and weather. Since North Korea-related news is broadcast in English, it is often quoted by foreign international broadcasters such as CNN or France 24.

- SmartBiz Accelerators (Thursday, 17:00 - 17:30 KST): Introduces various domestic small and medium-sized companies and provides information on the company's technological competitiveness and prospects in the global market.

- I'm Live (Thursday, 13:00 - 13:30 KST): A mini concert program performed live by talented domestic musicians. You can view the stage in 360 VR.
