[edit]

Ralph Michael Ineson[2] was born in Leeds on 15 December 1969,[3] and educated at Woodleigh School and Pocklington School.[4]

He studied theatre at Lancaster University's Furness College. After his first year, he moved into a flat in the city and worked as a security man at The Dukes, Lancaster, helping at the theatre's open-air productions of Shakespeare in Williamson Park.[5]

In the early 1990s, after university, he worked as a teacher and cricket coach at York Sixth Form College.[6]

He played the recurring character Chris Finch in the BBC comedy The Office.[7] He starred as Donald Bamford in the sitcom Goodnight Sweetheart, as Zack in the soap opera Coronation Street, and played ex-soldier Sam Walker in the first series of Spooks. He played Luke Mullen in the BBC drama Playing the Field. He had a minor part in episode four of the first series of BBC drama This Life.
