Omignano is a town and comune in the province of Salerno in the Campania region of south-western Italy.
Geography
[edit]The municipality borders with Casal Velino, Lustra, Salento, Sessa Cilento and Stella Cilento.
Culture
[edit]Omignano Cilento adhered to the Empathic Movement (Empathism) and has been inserted in the Cultural Pyramid of Cilento as "Il Paese degli Aforismi" (In English: "The Aphorisms Village").[3] The founder, Menotti Lerro, also Honorary Citizen of the village, was born there in 1980.[4] In the village it is possible to see more than one hundred ceramic tiles with historical and new contemporary aphorisms. In addition in the main square it is possible to see a large ceramic tile representing the Cultural Pyramid of Cilento.[5]
