The DK–MSZP–Dialogue Party Alliance (Hungarian: DK–MSZP–Párbeszéd pártszövetség), officially DK, MSZP, Dialogue Social Democratic–Green Alliance (Hungarian: DK, MSZP, Párbeszéd szociáldemokrata-zöld szövetség)[2] is a Hungarian centre-left opposition alliance consisted of the Democratic Coalition, the Hungarian Socialist Party and the Dialogue – The Greens' Party, founded in the spring of 2024, in response to the centrist political power of Péter Magyar strengthening.[3][4]
Klára Dobrev, Prime Minister of the Democratic Coalition shadow government, announced on 28 March 2024 that the party alliance will run on a joint list in the 2024 European Parliament election and local elections, as well as in the 2026 Hungarian parliamentary election, providing voters with a unified Social Democrat-Green list.[5]
History
[edit]Péter Magyar announced his intention to found a party on 15 March 2024. A few days later, the not-yet-formed political formation was polled at around 15-20%, so the left-wing formations had to step in: from among the opposition parties, the Democratic Coalition, the Hungarian Socialist Party, and the Dialogue decided to form a long-term political alliance. Klára Dobrev announced formation of an alliance at the press conference on 28 March 2024.[6] They agreed that the three parties will run on a unified Social Democrat-Green list in the 2024 European Parliament election and 2026 parliamentary election.
