Otitinae - это название подсемейства мух в семье Ulidiidae . Ранее это были Otitidae. Как и Ulidiinae, большинство видов являются травоядными или сапрофаговыми . Большинство видов разделяют с Tephritidae необычную удлиненную проекцию анальной клетки в крыле , но могут быть дифференцированы с помощью плавно изогнутой подкостальной вены. Большинство из них тусклые от серого до блестящих коричневых или черных мух с венами 1 сетиулозой или, в некоторых случаях, голыми. [ 2 ]
