Демотина - это род листовых жуков в подсемействе Eumolpinae . [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ] [ 7 ] насчитывается более 50 описанных видов В Демотине . Род является родом из Азии , Австралии и Океании , хотя один вид ( демотина Modesta ) является адаптивным видом на юго -востоке Соединенных Штатов в Северной Америке . [ 7 ] Известно, что некоторые виды являются партеногенетическими . [ 8 ]
Виды демофины, описанные на Фиджи и Вануату, отличаются от азиатских видов, присутствием эмаргинаций на средних и задних ногах, характерно для типофорини . Из-за этого и других различий виды из Фиджи и Вануату, предварительно переносятся на род Parademotina Gómez-Zurita (2024). [ 9 ]
