Saint-Evroult-Notre-Dame-du-Bois (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃.t‿evʁu nɔtʁ dam dy bwa] ) is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France.[3] The commune has the longest name of all the communes within the Orne department.
Geography
[edit]The Commune is one of 30 communes that make up the Natura 2000 protected area of Bocages et vergers du sud Pays d'Auge.[4] The site is 21,541 hectares in size and consists of a well-preserved wooded landscape that hosts three protected beetles, the European stag beetle, the great capricorn beetle and the Hermit Beetle.[5]

[edit]- Abbey of Saint-Evroul are a set of Abbey ruins registered as a Monument historique in 1967.[6]
Notable People
[edit]- Ebrulf - (517–596) a Frankish hermit, abbot, and saint, founded the Abbey here in the 7th Century.[7]
