Выборы в городской совет Шеффилда были проведены 4 мая 2000 года. Одна треть совета была на выборах. До этих выборов два либеральных демократа - Роберт Уотсон и Трефон Морган - стали независимыми . Точно так же было два дефицита лейбористов , давний советник лейбористов Дороти Уолтон отправился в либеральные демократы, а Майкл Смит стал независимым.
Выборы увидели, что либеральные демократы расширяют свое большинство благодаря паре прибыли от труда, причем обе стороны возмещали места, где произошли вышеупомянутые дефекты. Голосование, либерал -демократ в замешательстве отказался от последовательного увеличения своих предыдущих выборов, тогда как консерваторы управляли своей лучшей доли голосов с 1992 года .
