Криорхина - род пахло . [ 16 ] Виды среднего до большого размера, черный или зеленоватый черный, с или без легких маркировки, имитирующих шмелей. Голова намного сплющена и шире, чем грудная клетка. Антенны расположены на выдающемся коническом фронтальном процессе, лицо умеренно производится под глазами, вниз или вперед, в профиле. Глаза голые. Живот эллиптический или очень короткий овал. [ 17 ] Личинки, найденные в отверстиях гнили или разлагающихся лиственных пород [ 18 ]
