Это неофициальный список ЮНЕСКО объектов всемирного наследия по всему миру по религии, с которой они связаны. [ 1 ] В то время как на некоторых сайтах была изменена их религиозная принадлежность в различных точках истории, этот список классифицирует сайты по их последней принадлежности. Кроме того, не все следующие сайты функционируют как места поклонения. ЮНЕСКО не поддерживает классификацию по религии, которая была бы несовместимой с универсальной ценностью этих сайтов как «мирового наследия».
